The Government announced the opening of the inscriptions to the scholarships of the Support Program for Argentine Students (PROGRESAR), which will start next March 1 and will last until the following April 30, so that high school and university students can apply for state aid to finish their studies. The measure was communicated through the Resolution 799/2022published this Friday in the Official bulletin.
With the signature of the Minister of Education, Jaime Perczykthe call was then announced for people interested in this assistance, both for the “Completion of compulsory education” line, and for the “Promotion of higher education”, with a monthly subsidy that was established at $6,400 for both cases.
Meanwhile, for scholarship holders who are students of certain university careers that since 2020 were called “strategic”, the aid will also be 6,400 pesos in the case of second-year students, but it was increased to $6,740 for third-year students. $8,490 for fourth graders and $10,660 for fifth graders.
Similarly, students of non-university “strategic careers” may receive a subsidy of 6,400 pesos.
To request the line for completion of compulsory educationthe interested party must be between 16 and 24 years old and prove that they are Argentine, native or naturalized, or a foreigner with legal residence for at least two years in the country, and all must have a national identity document.
People up to 35 years of age who are in charge of a single-parent household with minor children may also apply for the scholarship; members of indigenous communities and/or belonging to native peoples; trans people and the disabled. In the latter cases there is no age limit to enroll.
Finally, it was recalled that the sum of the income of the young person and that of their family group should not exceed three Minimum, Vital and Mobile Salaries (SMVM) except for the young applicants who are holders of a non-contributory pension. due to disability, and comply with the presentation of the regular student certificates and the required academic conditions.

For this subsidy there are two types of subcategories, incoming studentswhich are those who do not report higher academic activity prior to their application, and those who advancedthose who apply to obtain the benefit and who began their higher education prior to the year in which they apply, according to the information provided by the respective academic institution.
The family income requirements will be the same as in the previous case, but to access this benefit it is also necessary to be a graduate of the middle level and not owe materials at the time of registration; enter to study or be studying a graduate or undergraduate career in public institutions such as National and Provincial Universities, National University Institutes, and study or begin to study in technical training and teacher training institutes of state management.
The scholarship application must be made through the registration form made available on the “Progresar” website (progresar.educacion.gob.ar) or through the Progresar App. The applicant will be able to modify their data only until the moment in which the aforementioned registration form is closed and sent.
