The government allocated BGN 200 million for the second tranche of Ukrainian aid – 2024-10-07 05:29:49


BGN 100 million each are provided to animal breeders, fruit and vegetables, rose oil, vineyards and tobacco, and another BGN 100 million for cereals and oil crops

The government approved an additional BGN 200 million under the budget of the State Fund “Agriculture” for 2024, the press service of the cabinet announced this morning.

The funds are allocated for the payment of part of the second tranche with a total value of BGN 325 million under state aid schemes “Aid to support the liquidity of farmers to overcome the negative economic impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine” and “Aid to support the liquidity of farmers, grain and oil producers cultures, to overcome the negative economic impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine”.

BGN 100 million will be paid to support farmers from primary agricultural production – animal breeders, breeders of large and small ruminants and bee families, and producers of fruit and vegetables, rose oil, wine vines and tobacco. Producers of grain and oil crops will receive BGN 100 million.

The government decree on the additional funds was adopted in absentia on the last day of the past working week.

In the month of May, the office secured and paid the full amount of the first tranche of “Ukrainian aid” for farmers in the amount of nearly 300 million BGN. Support was provided to over 51,000 manufacturers.
