The Governing Council ratifies an international convention

The Government Council deliberated on and ratified Convention No. 148 on the protection of workers against occupational risks due to air pollution, noise and vibrations in the workplace.

Adopted by the General Conference of the International Labor Organization at its fortieth session, on June 25, 1957, and entered into force on January 17, 1959, this convention was ratified by Bill 92.21, indicates a press release from the Council. , noting that the provisions of the said bill were presented by Younes Skouri Oubahssou Minister of Economic Integration, Small Business, Employment and Skills, on behalf of Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation Africans and Moroccans Living Abroad.

This agreement aims to offer employees a suitable working environment, in which international standards relating to safety at work are respected, by working to protect them from risks related to air pollution, noise and vibrations.

The same source pointed out that the national legislation in force does not include provisions that correspond to the requirements of the said convention in the field of vibrations, hence the need for its ratification and the addition of a declaration that excludes the requirements related to vibrations. risks of “vibrations”, in accordance with article 2 which stipulates that each member state can ratify and approve the commitments of the agreement separately.

The Governing Council concluded its work by approving the appointments to posts of responsibility in accordance with article 92 of the Constitution. At the level of the High Commission for Planning (HCP), Mohammed Jawad Al Kassimi has been appointed director of the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics.

At the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, were appointed: Ahmed Kadim, dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language of the Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) of Marrakech, Samir Fattajo, director of the ‘El Kelaa des Sraghna Higher School of Technology affiliated to UCA, Youssef El Ouazzani, dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Guelmim, affiliated to Ibn Zohr University of Agadir (UIZ), and Abdeljalil El Idrissi, dean of the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Smara, affiliated to the UIZ.
