Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew, (Mt 11, 25-30)
During that time,
Jesus spoke and said:
“Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
I proclaim your praise:
what you have hidden from the wise and learned,
you have revealed it to the little ones.
Yes, Father, you wanted it so in your benevolence.
Everything was handed over to me by my Father;
no one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son,
and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal it.
Come to me,
all you who toil under the weight of the burden,
and I will give you rest.
Take upon you my yoke,
become my disciples,
for I am meek and humble of heart,
and you will find rest for your soul.
Yes, my yoke is easy to bear,
and my burden, light. »
