Anne was born on November 12, 1982 in New York, USA and is the second child in a family of three. When she was six years old, she and her family moved to Millburn, New Jersey, where she grew up. She graduated from the local high school and studied at the Academy of Theater Arts.

His love for the stage and acting was born when he saw his mother perform in a stage production of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. Her parents do not agree with her on this path, even though her mother is a former actress. What they didn’t imagine was the bright future that awaited their daughter in this particular industry.

Anne made her film debut in 2001 in Disney’s The Princess Diaries in the lead role. Her heroine is sweet, funny, kind and slightly awkward. These qualities make the audience like her and the actress. She says that she had to interrupt her studies to participate in this movie, but she doesn’t regret it. She launched her to fame and was also nominated for the MTV Awards in the category of “Best Breakthrough Female”. On the other hand, the second film in which she participated in the same year “The Other Side of Heaven” received negative reviews.

For several years, she mostly landed “princess” roles in family films, which didn’t bother her for a while, because she liked putting herself in the shoes of teenagers. According to her, these types of roles are for a limited time until the actor grows up and it no longer seems strange to play such a role. Hathaway is making the most of it while she has this opportunity, and then she can move into more serious roles that will be more age-appropriate for her.

The transition to her “more serious” roles is smooth. After filming The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Mess, Anne said it was time to move to the next stage of her career to avoid the phenomenon of “typecasting” – when an actor is associated with only one role or type of role .

His first such film was ‘Brokeback Mountain’ (2005), which garnered several Academy Award nominations. Thanks to him, she understands what she wants from her acting, which is to move and entertain people so much that they forget their own life.

Her next successful project was The Devil Wears Prada (2006), where Hathaway again played the role of “good girl” in a competitive environment. She received good reviews and the actress herself says that through this film she got a better understanding of the fashion industry and her respect for it increased. She also shared that she was the ninth choice for this role, thus encouraging people to never give up on their goals.

In 2009, she participated in the biographical drama “Becoming Jane” about the life of the writer Jane Austen. She gets more negative reviews for her fake English accent, but overall her performance is good enough to be considered a success. She also received a nomination in the “Best Actress” category at the British Independent Film Awards.

She also ventured into the fantasy genre with her role as the White Queen in Tim Burton’s film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Alice in Wonderland (2016), and also released the romantic comedy Love and Other Drugs in 2010. In 2012, she starred in The Dark Knight Rises, the last film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy as Catwoman. For Anne, this is one of the more physically demanding roles because it requires more physical training and martial arts lessons.

In 2012, she achieved her greatest success in her mature roles, namely that of Fatin in the film adaptation of ‘Les Miserables’. He received several awards for it, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA. This can be seen as an irony of fate, since her mother had played the same role years earlier, but in the theater.

Hathaway’s other projects after Les Miserables and Interstellar (2014) weren’t as successful, or at least not as recognizable. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the actress works hard for each of her roles and this often sets her apart from other established Hollywood stars. Subjecting her body to the necessary challenges like losing 25 pounds for her role in Les Miserables, learning martial arts, riding horses and developing an English accent. Aside from that, she always studies each of her characters and their issues in detail, so that she can do her job in a completely authentic and emotional way. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed by critics and audiences, through whose opinions she has managed to establish herself in the tough and competitive industry that is Hollywood.

Besides acting, Hathaway is also involved in activism. She spent a week in Nicaragua vaccinating children against hepatitis A and has traveled to many other countries to help fight for women’s rights and education. She supports same-sex marriage and equality between men and women.

Her distinguishing feature has always been her broad, beaming smile, which gives her the air of a little girl who always tries to see the positive in life. Whether it’s in a TV studio, on screen or at an event, her smile is always on her face and mesmerizes those around her. On the other hand, an insecure girl who suffers from depression and anxiety has been hiding behind this smile for some time. Ann goes through several similar phases in her life, her worst during her teenage years. Some of her consider her too talkative and annoying but on this occasion she replies that she has been feeling nervous in front of the cameras for a long time but she is still over it. “FHM”, “People”, “Maxim”, “Empire” and “Entertainment Weekly” magazines include Ann in their sexiest women rankings, but she does not agree with these definitions, claiming that her image is that of a “good girl” with no sex appeal.

Anne Hathaway is not just the “good princess” of Hollywood. She is a palette of emotions that cannot be framed. Her dedication is what gets her to the top, and her smile is the eternal ray of sunshine among the many artificial lights in Hollywood.
