Paris. While awaiting the star-studded interventions of American rapper Snoop Dogg and actor Tom Cruise as a nod to Los Angeles 2028, the Stade de France was the scene of a harrowing sequence: a futuristic dystopia in which “the golden traveller”, played by French breakdancer Arthur Cadre, descends from the heavens and rediscovers the Olympics that have long since disappeared, just as Baron Pierre de Coubertin did in the 19th century.
The character, all light, gold and movement, embodies freedom, and flanked by a reproduction of the Victory of Samothrace, one of the most famous Greek sculptures in the Louvre Museum, has the task of restoring the Olympic ideal, symbolized in the recomposition of the five rings imagined by Coubertin.

All this while the performer Alain Roche undertakes the feat of playing the Hymn of Apollo on a suspended, vertical piano. It was rediscovered in the ruins of Delphi and performed at the congress in Paris in 1894 that decided to reinstate the Olympics.
Following the lavish event, French bands Phoenix and Air began their musical numbers to the delight of those attending the Stade de France.
The symbols of the Games.
