What must a product be in order to boast the title of “Taste of the territory”? How are the gold, silver and bronze medals determined? “Tasty.lv” went to find out!
This year the competition was held in the premises of “Hanza Perona”. Jury members are not allowed in the kitchen. There, the products brought by the producers are unpacked, divided into tasting containers, each of which is assigned a number.
The judging takes place in silence, just like the services in tennis, the applause and shouts are reserved for the moment of the awarding.
When the product brought is tasted, the jury awards points. Jury members must also answer three questions about this product. First of all, what is recommended to be improved in this product, secondly, how can this product be used in cooking (this is more a question for cooks), thirdly, with what other products this particular sample is compatible.
