The organizers of the event will invite the audience to support the “Ziedot.lv” project “People of Ukraine”, informing live about the donation phone number, the colors of the Ukrainian flag will also be used in the graphic design. The domestic musicians will agree on a common song, expressing with their voices that they are thinking together with Ukraine. The ceremony will be broadcast live at 20.40 on TV3 and on next-generation TV3 Go3.
“Given the events in Ukraine, we considered canceling the event, but decided that it would be better to do what musicians have always done best – to soothe, strengthen, thrill, inspire through music. Music has a huge power. We want to give that power to the Ukrainian people. “We want to endure in this difficult and full time of ignorance.
“Right now we are all in a situation that we did not believe we would get to last. What is happening in Ukraine right now is mind-boggling, horrible and frightening. We at TV3 are in the minds and hearts of the Ukrainian people. What we can do is agree on a common goal and help the Ukrainian people as each of us can. At this point, every support for Ukraine is important. “This” Golden Microphone “ceremony will be dedicated to the people of Ukraine and will bring together donations to support them as needed. The filming of the ceremony will take place again this year at the Media Center of the Riga Art and Media Technical School, where nominated and current artists of various genres and styles will perform at the award ceremony – “Brainstorm”, “Dagamba” and Riga Dome Choir School Boys’ Choir, “Riga Fashion” and “Sixth mile, ”Rick Feds. Don and Jānis Šipkēvics will perform with the premiere of the television together with Aminata, “The Sound Poets” with the song “At One Fire”, the group “Banda Banda” with the premiere of the song “Svars”. Debutante BŪŪ will also take the stage together with MUUD and Edavārds and the winner of the show “X Faktors” Grēta Grantiņa. At the end of the evening, the oldest concert group in Latvia “Eolika” will perform, which will receive an award for lifetime contribution at the ceremony. Also, for the first time, a guest artist will perform on the stage of “Golden Microphone”, who has just won several awards at the Estonian Record Industry Music of the Year Ceremony – NOEP with the song “Head Out of the Water”.
As reported earlier this year, for the 26th time in 20 categories, the Music Record of the Year Awards for the best music of last year will be presented. More than 500 entries have been submitted this year: 165 albums; 37 debut albums; 149 songs; 134 videos; 20 concert videos and 22 album designs.
