The pandemic has brought about major changes in the way awards are produced and televised in recent months. For the Emmy Awards last September, dozens of nominees appeared from remote locations, while other shows featured a mix of pre-recorded and live performances.
The coronavirus also delayed the Golden Globes and Oscars ceremonies for a couple of months.
The Golden Globes were postponed from their usual January date, while the Academy Awards will now be held on April 25, instead of the usual late February or early March date.
