Did you know that Princess Diana was godmother to 17 children?
according to the siteDaily MailBritish, a number of school friends, former classmates of the late princess and other acquaintances of the royal family rushed to ask the Princess of Wales if she would accept to be godmother to their children.
Princess Diana remembered every child’s birthday and sent them cards and gifts no matter how busy she was.
Today, most of these children are thirty or forty years old, and they work in various professions. Here is a list of the names of the 17 children to whom Princess Diana was godmother:
1- Lady Edwina Snow, 41, wife of a well-known and important man in the BBC news channel.
2- Lady Alexandra Hooper, 40, Prince William’s childhood sweetheart.
3- Susie Cazalet, 39, artist and set designer, daughter of Isabelle Daunay, childhood friend of Princess Diana in Norfolk.
4- Camilla Shirley Bevan, 38, is the daughter of one of Princess Diana’s school friends.
5- Prince Philippos, 36, Prince of Greece and Denmark.
6. Leonora Lonsdale, 37, award-winning film director, daughter of Laura Lonsdale, Princess Diana’s school friend and former flatmate.
7- Jake Warren, a close friend of Prince Harry.
8- Lady Mary Louise Wellesley, 36, daughter of the ninth Duke of Wellington and niece of Lady Jane Wellesley, one of the women it was believed King Charles might marry.
9- George Frost, 36, son of a TV presenter and owner of a rum company.
10. Benjamin Samuel, 34, is the son of one of Diana’s best friends, Julia Samuel, an author and depression therapist who founded Child Bereavement UK.
11. Edward Downpatrick, 34, great-grandson of the Duke of Kent who will one day inherit his title. His friends call him “Lord Eddy”.
12. Jack Bartholomew, the son of Diana’s flatmate and best friend Caroline Pryde, who happens to be Prince Harry’s godmother.
13- Antonia Trower, medical marketing director specializing in cancer, is the granddaughter of the 11th Lord Suffield, who was a war and Norfolk field hero.
14- Jack Falkner, son of a colonel and friend of Princess Diana at school.
