Leksand beat Brynäs after a dramatic finish. The classic meeting was edged with strong emotions, both on and off the ice.
Anton Lindholm and Oskar Lang had scored both 1–0 and 2–0 in the second period. A tough seat for the Gävle team, who hoped to recover from the slap in the face last Thursday (1-7 loss against Oskarshamn).
The mockery in the stands
Before the third period, the Leksand supporters sent up a banner to sprinkle extra salt in the wounds of Brynäs.

With two minutes left in the match, Brynäs got their position. Mikael Ruohomaa was going to make it 3-0 in an empty cage, but was hooked. The judges acquiesced – and the Finn went insane. After yelling at the referee and receiving a match penalty, he pulled the club hard into the rim.
– He got angry, he loses it after he gets hooked. It’s an expulsion, and there it’s 2,500 in a stick that went, says Niklas Wikegård in Cmore.
“We make two huge mistakes”
Just seconds later, Brynäs reduced Linus Ölund and it was a match again. Goalkeeper Anders Lindbäck was picked, and the visitors pressed on. But Leksand rode out the storm and took three points.
– We make two huge mistakes in the second period, so it was 2-0 and that is a bit typical of a losing team. In the third period we found our way back to a good game but we concede two and score one. It’s not enough, says Brynä coach Mikko Manner in C More.
