Saudi Arabian excited when the mountainous area Mecca reportedly green, a sight considered rare. Netizens were excited to mention the apocalypse issue.
The Mecca city government has uploaded a video showing the views in the mountainous area.
In the video, the mountains look green overgrown with grass and weeds. In the distance, you can see camels pacing back and forth.
“The mountains are blanketed in green after recent rains,” read the caption of the video uploaded to Twitter.
Middle Saudi, Haramain Sharifainsaid these mountains were green due to heavy rains that have flooded the Mecca area in recent weeks.
So much rain has fallen that the Saudi Ministry of Education has repeatedly disrupted the classroom curriculum.
However, the commentary column on Mecca locations was inundated with netizens who associated the news with the apocalypse.
“Signs of the apocalypse,” wrote one netizen commenting on the video uploaded by the Mecca city government.
News comment column Haramain Sharifain also full of similar comments. A netizen claimed that the Prophet Muhammad had prophesied about greenery in the mountains of Mecca.
“The end is near,” wrote the netizen.
Another netizen joined in the comment: “One of the signs of the apocalypse. The Arab lands are green again. May Allah have mercy on us.”
Similar comments appeared on photos uploaded to the Holy Mosque’s official Twitter account. One of the comments came from Indonesian netizens.
“‘The Day of Judgment will not come until the land of Arabia is green again with plants and rivers.’ (HR Muslim),” wrote the netizen.
