The Glass Museum the great forgotten in Cartagena | Radio Cartagena

The Cartagena City Council and the General Directorate of Crafts have made progress in their collaboration to promote andl Museum of Glass of Cartagena through two projects to achieve greater tourist presence from the center in the city, promotion of crafts and the renewal of its machinery to make it more sustainable.

The project of the Association of Glaziers of Santa Lucía, in charge of the management of the Museum, proposes the acquisition of an electric oven, to replace the current one, of propane. The City Council and the General Directorate are working on various grants and subsidies that the Association may benefit from this year.

Likewise, progress has been made in the need for the Museum to have the possibility of making virtual visits, for which the Tourism Area will contact the Association with the aim of launching a virtual tour that enhances the image of crafts.

In addition, both administrations join forces so that the center gains weight in tourism and crafts. In this sense, the local government will study incorporating the Museum into the itinerary of Puerto de Culturas and the tourist circuit of the shipping companies, when the cruises in the city are resumed.

In another order of business, the City Council and the General Directorate of Crafts have agreed to collaborate closely in the realization of two samples of Crafts in the municipality. One is designed for the month of October, on the esplanade of the port; while the other would be to develop in Cabo de Palos or La Manga, in summer. Future meetings will give more shape to both proposals.

Francisco García Romero, is the vice president of the Cartagena Glass Museum who has gone through the microphones of Hoy por hoy Cartagena.
