On our return to the city of New York (United States) we had planned to visit some of the new viewpoints that have been built since the last time we went, when we only stayed one day with the aim of seeing her dressed for Christmas.
This time, we started early in the morning and walked to the Central Station area where we visited the mirador SUMMIT One Vanderbilt. We were able to enjoy its views, its design and the details that make it unique in this type of attraction.

Location
The attraction is located in the heart of Midtown, at the height of Madison Ave and 42 st. To give a better reference, it is attached to the Grand Central Terminal of the city, so you can take advantage and visit it at the same time.
The exact address is 45 E 42nd St, New York, NY 10017, United States.
Tickets and schedules
The entrance fee varies depending on the option chosen. The first one, for US$ 39 for adults and US$ 33 for children from 6 to 12 years old, allows access to the general viewpoint. Then there is another package of US$ 59 for adults and US$ 53 for children from 6 to 12 that includes the viewpoint and the possibility of going up in a transparent elevator outside the building.
It is advisable to buy the ticket through its website, since you indicate the day and time of the visit, avoiding long lines and wasting time in a city where you need to take advantage of every minute. In addition, it comes out less like that than buying it at the moment.
According to their website, the viewpoint is open every day from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.
The place
We arrived on foot and had to go down the stairs to enter the attraction area.
Soon you will find the queues to enter. Remember to buy the ticket in advance to ensure your place and not that you arrive and cannot go up because it is completely sold.
When we visited, no one was buying, it was already fully booked.
Then we will have to queue to go through security. It’s not a big deal, but you have to do it and you might get checked with a metal detector too.
Now with the ticket scanned from the phone, we will go to a room that will present a short welcome video.
They will give us some shoe protectors and we will go through some machines that scan our faces.
The next step is to go up to this fully mirrored elevator that will take us to the 91st floor of the building.
Leaving the elevator, we find the first of the three floors that we will visit. The viewpoint has a lot of design and is really unique, with many mirrors that will give us the feeling of being in the middle of thousands of people.
It is very striking, as well as very photogenic.
As for the views, I really liked being close to the Empire State or the Chrysler Building.
We could also see the library and Bryant Park with its ice rink.
Wherever you look, you will see yourself reflected.
We then move on to the “Reflect” exhibit, where we can find shapes on the floor, as well as views of Central Park.
Then we will go to one of the most striking rooms called AIR: AFFINITY. Here we can play with hundreds of silver balloons and have a good time.
Already on the second floor, which is located at 92 of the building, we will find more attractions. Here we will have a different vision of the viewpoint and its reflection in the mirrors.
Another of the sectors that we visit is Levitation. This glass balcony, where you can take a photo sitting in the air, is 305 meters high.
And finally we find AIR: UNITY, which will give us the feeling of flying with the video they show. There you can take photos and record videos too.
Already on the 93rd floor of the building, we can walk around the outdoor terrace and its cafe if we want to have a drink or eat something.
We headed to the part called ASCENT, which would take us up in the transparent elevator.
We get on and go up to 370 meters in this transparent elevator that is all exterior in the building.
Going down, you can go through the gift shop.
Something that caught our attention was the view from the bathrooms. It’s rare that it’s so exposed and open.
Then we started going down from the 92nd floor to get back to street level.
we visited SUMMIT One Vanderbilt and everything surprised us. It is a special viewpoint, where we can find a very varied experience. The visit took us about an hour and a half. We enjoyed it a lot and we liked that it was not very crowded, which allowed us to circulate and take advantage of the attraction.
