Clinical Recommendations to carry out the Study:
Paperback:
“PAP is an examination, whose purpose is to detect early abnormalities of the cervix, for the early diagnosis of cervical cancer.”
- Age – women 25 to 65 years old.
- Not be menstruating – The blood covers the cells preventing microscopic visualization
- Not having had sexual intercourse, preferably two or three days before the exam – the sperm prevent correct visualization.
- Do not wash or douche before – Vaginal washing sweeps away bacteria and inflammatory response cells (leukocytes) that help us to identify whether there is an infectious process and the degree of inflammation.
- Do not apply any medication, jelly, ointments, creams, ovules, etc. prior to performing the test – many times we find foreign substances that we do not identify under the microscope and that hinder the correct visualization of the cells under the microscope.
- Come with a positive, relaxed attitude and do not feel nervous, the Pap smear is not a painful test, it is considered non-invasive.
Mammography:
“Mammography is one of the most effective techniques used in the early diagnosis of breast cancer.”
- Age – women from 50 to 69 years old.
- Does not require. Except if the patient is breastfeeding or lactating, it is recommended that she present herself immediately after breastfeeding.
