The Giants fall on the Diamondbacks and are officially eliminated

Sergio Alcántara scored a pair of doubles for the Arizona Diamondbacks, who beat the San Francisco Giants 8-4 on Saturday, now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Christian Walker went 3 of 5 with a double RBI, coming within a home run from completing the cycle for Arizona.

Josh Rojas added two RBI while Cooper Hummel hit a sacrifice fly for Arizona. Jordan Luplow has three hits.

JD Davis and Mike Yastrzemski scored at home for San Francisco, which, however, had its five-game winning streak cut short. The Giants have won 10 of their last 12 games.

Drey Jameson (3-0) won for the third time in his fourth career start, conceding two points out of six hits in six innings. The right-hander delivered seven strikeouts and a couple of walks.

Jakob Junis (5-7) pitched 4 innings and 2/3, allowing four points out of eight hits, to take the defeat. He eliminated four opponents and walked a couple of them.

For the Diamondbacks, the Dominicans Geraldo Perdomo 1-0, Sergio Alcántara 4-2 with four RBI.

For the Giants, Venezuelan Thairo Estrada 4-1 with an RBI.
