Kawasan Al-Ula Saudi Arabian it became crowded again after the appearance of a rock formation that resembled a giant fish swimming in a sea of golden sand.
Al-Ula area is in fact famous for desert phenomena which sometimes make no sense. With an area of 22,500 square kilometers, Al-Ula is one of the most dramatic desert landscapes in the world.
Historically, the ancient Nabataeans established their main city in the south just north of the Al-Ula valley and dug the spectacular rock tomb at Mada’in Saleh. Mada’in Saleh is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Nabataeans were pre-Islamic Arabs who also built the site of Petra in Jordan.
In addition to rocks with giant shark-like formations, there is a rock in Al-Ula that also resembles other animals, namely elephants. Called Jabal Al Fil or elephant mountain, this rock is in a remote location.
Jabal Al Fil is part of Al-Ula city, Medina province, Saudi Arabia. The exact location is near Mada’in Saleh, a group of rocks which is believed to have been the settlement of the Thamud in the 1st century BC until AD 74. The distance between Jabal Al Feel and Madain Saleh is around 10 kilometers.

Jabal means mountain, while Al Fil is Arabic for elephant. Is it true that ancient stones look like elephants? When looking at the above objects or photos, each person can have their own point of view. Some say similar, some say no.
Now about the size, almost certainly all a rumor. Jabal Al Feel is really gigantic. If you call it a mountain, it is clear that it is big.
Usually those who visit Madain Saleh in small groups take the time to visit Jabal Al Feel. For photographs, the area is really interesting. Not only the Elephant, but also the expanse of golden sand and the beauty of the ancient stones painted by nature.

Though remote, Jabal Al Fil is easy enough to reach. Smooth asphalt roads. The city of Al Ula, where Jabal Al Feel is located, can be reached in 4-5 hours by road from the Medina. In that city, besides the ancient cities of Madain Saleh and Jabal Al Feel, there are also many other natural places.
Areas that Prophet Muhammad SAW avoided
Some time ago, Mada’in Saleh and Al Ula in Saudi Arabia were in the public spotlight. These two names are the names of tourist areas that are said to be avoided by Saudi nationals. Indeed, the two areas would have been avoided by the Prophet Muhammad.
Al Ula is one of the cities built as a tourist destination. However, the city is known as a “haunted” place.
