The gesture of women’s football against racism in the US

The United States Professional Women’s Soccer League returned to activity. In the opening game, players from the North Carolina Courage and Portland Thorns teams knelt during the national anthem and wore T-shirts with the message “Black Lives Matter,” or “Black Lives Matter.” The teams issued a statement explaining that the gesture was in protest at “racial injustice, police brutality and systematic racism.”
