Petříček informed on Tuesday that Germany could classify the entire Czech Republic as a risk area.

“Germany’s decision to travel is ultimately milder, with some exceptions that we have sought. The whole of the Czech Republic will not be risky, the Ústí nad Labem and World Cup regions remain safe. “Commuters and people returning home (transit) do not have to worry,” the head of diplomacy wrote on Wednesday evening.

The final decision was confirmed in the evening by the German Robert Koch Institute.

For inclusion in the German list of high-risk countries, the main condition is to exceed the limit of 50 infected per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. The second criterion is the current epidemic situation in the country. For example, if the number of cases rises sharply but the overall seven-day balance sheet has not yet reached this limit, Germany can still assess the country as risky.

For trips from risk areas to Germany, a negative coronavirus test or mandatory quarantine with a subsequent test in Germany is required. From October, quarantine will be required on a general basis, it will be possible to end it after five days with a negative analysis. For the time being, truck drivers or commuters have exceptions if they do not have symptoms of covid-19.
