The German Foreign Ministry spoke about the supply of weapons to Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock

The German Foreign Minister said that further escalation can only be avoided with the help of diplomacy in the Normandy format, as well as through the Russia-NATO Council and within the OSCE.

The priority task for Germany is to prevent further conflict between Ukraine and Russia, therefore there is no talk of the supply of weapons to Ukraine for self-defense. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, reported on the website of the German Foreign Ministry.

“Both the G7 countries and the European Union have made it very clear that further military escalation on the border with Ukraine and, above all, violation of international law and violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty will have enormous political and economic consequences for Russia,” Berbock said.

She noted that Germany has many options for action, the most important of which is to prevent further escalation.

According to Berbock, this can only be achieved through diplomacy in the Normandy format, as well as through the NATO-Russia Council and within the OSCE.

Recall that the adviser to the German Chancellor on foreign policy Jens Pletner plans to to negotiate with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak. Officials will discuss Ukraine.
