The German company Koepfer, one of the leading manufacturers of high-precision gears for engines and transmissions, with 150 years of experience in this field, will invest in a plant in the city of Smederevo in Serbia.
Three years ago, Koepfer started producing car parts in a small rented factory in the city, and today he officially moves into a 2,600-square-meter owned building, recalls Serbian media Ekapija.
The plant will produce the most advanced and technological components for companies such as Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Opel, Serbian Economy Minister Andjelka Atanaskovic said on this occasion.
Atanaskovic recalled that the value of this company’s investment in the first phase was 10 million euros.
The company has not requested any incentives from the government of the Republic of Serbia and this is a pure greenfield project. The company will expand the plant to 10,400 square meters and the investment plan is over 30 million euros. At the end of the investment cycle and the construction of the entire factory, 250 people will work there.
