The introduction of a speed limiter of 180 km / h for all new Volvo cars has been a highly controversial step by the carmaker, criticized from many different angles, including that road safety will not help. As expected, the free market is reacting – the German company Heico Sportiv has found a way to decommission the limiter.

More precisely, the modifier talks about changing the top speed from the level set for the model year 2021, ie 180 km / h. From this, it is possible to “return” to the level of the 2020 model year with the help of an additional control unit called e.motion. In practice, this means an increase of 30–70 km / h, ie the resulting 210–250 km / h depending on the car version. .

The adjuster gives a guarantee of 5 years or 150 thousand kilometers. However, it is not known, at least for the time being, how the modification will affect Volvo’s factory warranty.
