The Generalitat Valenciana prepares aid for the taxi sector
The Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility of the Generalitat Valenciana will grant direct aid to the taxi to alleviate the negative effects that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on the sector, as announced by the Minister Arcadi Spain.
These aids, explained the minister, may benefit the entire sector of the Valencian Community, which exceeds more than 4,500 licenses.
This is what Spain has indicated:
“From the Consell we want to support taxi workers who have suffered a significant reduction in their income due to the mobility restrictions imposed by the pandemic.”
In addition, the minister has indicated that the Department is also studying another series of measures to support this public service as future aid to promote the renewal of the taxi fleet.
Likewise, it has been agreed with the sector to carry out an institutional promotion campaign to promote the use of this service.
Arcadi Spain has highlighted that all these initiatives are the product of “dialogue and consensus with the sector”, whose representatives have held working meetings with the technical staff of the Ministry, to analyze the situation and try to find solutions to the problems that the taxi presents .
This is how the Head of Mobility has explained it:
“It is essential to continue supporting public transport, an essential service in which we are strengthening security measures and efficiency in order to guarantee the quality of the service provided.”
