The Generalitat Valenciana modifies the Taxi Law at the request of Benidorm
The Generalitat Valenciana has modified the Taxi Law after responding to the request of the Benidorm City Council, which had requested said change to equate the service with Transport Vehicles with Driver.
The amendment to the Law, which has an effective date from January 1, has already been published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV).
The modification affects article 13.1 of Law 13/2017 of the Valencian Community Taxi and will allow the service to be carried out with vehicles with between five and seven seats, expandable to nine.
The Councilor for Mobility in Benidorm, José Ramón González de Zárate, thanked the regional administration “for having taken into account the demands of the city and the two taxi associations.”
The administrative authorizations to have nine places will, however, entail the obligation to adapt at least one for reduced mobility. In González de Zárate’s opinion, this will allow “an improvement in the quality of the service.”
