The General Council of Associations of Mediators recalls that the insured with a Legal Defense policy must be guaranteed the right to freely choose a lawyer for the protection and claim of their interests, as confirmed by recent rulings.
“Many insurers cut the rights of its clients by imposing limitations on the free appointment of professionals to favor the use of the lawyers of its network”, indicates the institution in a statement.
From the General Council it is advised “actively offer this insurance to customers, clearly indicating the right that assists them and warning them that neither the exclusions nor the large or small amount insured can empty it of content”.
