This Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Maurice Pagnol village hall in Virey-le-Grand, the general meeting of the intervillage association for blood donation was held.
For the occasion, the 4 mayors of the municipalities had made the trip: Pascal Boulling, mayor of Crissey, Michel Lefer, mayor of Lessard-le-national, Didier Réty, mayor of Sassenay and Guillaume Thiébaud, mayor of Virey le Grand.
Once the many participants were installed, Danielle Begonin, president of the association, took the floor to thank them for their presence.
She thanked the elected officials of course, but also Michel Jeannin, president of the Departmental Union 71*, Georges Rollin, president of ADOT 71** as well as all the presidents, or their representatives, of the neighboring associations: Saint- Remy, La Poste France Telecom, Chalon sur Saône, Chatenoy le Royal, Saint-Marcel, Lux-Sevrey, Sennecey le Grand, Verdun sur le Doubs and Fragnes la Loyere.
Danielle then warmly thanked the mayors of the municipalities for their support throughout the year, whether in terms of materials, made available to the premises but also for their generous subsidies.
She also wanted to thank Philippe Vieillard, president of the Crissey Tennis Club, who makes his covered tennis premises available for collections.
Then, of course, she wanted to salute the work of the volunteers of the association: “Thank you for your commitment, for your dedication to the cause of blood donation. (…) The association would be nothing without you”.
She ended her welcome speech by reading a poem by Laurent Le Gal “Take the time”, more than relevant. (see pictures)
Then it was Martine Duchet, assistant secretary, who took the floor to explain the 2022 activity report.
In total, 5 blood collections were organized by the friendly, which represents 418 donations throughout the year 2022.
282 donors presented including 41 first donations.
Encouraging results even if the number of donations is short compared to 2021. (464 donations collected).
On the other hand, nearly 10% of new donors against 7.5% in 2021!
Martine recalled the various activities of 2022 where the association was represented: in total, more than 20 actions were undertaken by the association in order to raise public awareness of blood donation on the one hand and to generate profits for the association on the other hand.
It was then Bruno Drapier, deputy treasurer, who took the microphone to comment on the 2022 financial report and the 2023 forecast.
Then, Danielle Begonin addressed the assembly for the traditional moral report.
She first explained the drop in donors: following covid, the EFS *** set up collections by appointment.
But she wanted to highlight the positive points with the significant increase in the first donations, the beneficial actions carried out by the volunteers (face to face at the exit of the shops or at the exit of the schools or even participation in the demonstrations).
Then, she wished to recall the role of the volunteer: to raise awareness, motivate and retain donors.
Finally, Danielle announced the objectives for 2023: continue promotional actions in order to recruit more and more new donors and retain existing donors.
“Let’s continue to talk about it around us, in our workplaces, with friends (…) let’s continue to allow patients to benefit from this precious blood,” she concluded.
Then she gave the floor to Michel Jeannin, president of UD 71*, who made a point of highlighting the hard work of Danielle and the entire team of the friendly: “Your involvement is exemplary and your results are more than satisfactory”.
He also welcomed the idea of ”face to face” meetings within the key points of the villages, which allow direct appointments to be made: “you are the precursors on this point and you were quickly imitated by the friendly of the department”.
Then it was Georges Rollin, president of ADOT 71**, who addressed the assembly in order to quickly present organ donation.
He wanted to make the public aware of communication between relatives: “the unsaid translates most of the time into the non-sampling” he lamented.
Then, it was the mayors of the villages who said a few words.
Everyone thanked and saluted the association for its work and commitment and renewed their confidence and support for this cause.
The Mayor of Lessard le national, Michel Lefer, announced it, he will lend the Essart village hall a second time to organize a second annual collection within his commune.
Finally, this general meeting ended with a moment rich in emotions: Danielle Begonin presented the insignia of Knight of Blood Merit to Nicole Torion, faithful friend since February 1, 2008.
Nicole, always present to ensure the collections and their preparations, also donates her blood and her plasma.
To date, Nicole alone has counted 180 donations!
“Nicole, on behalf of the patients, I would like to thank you very much for all these donations, and for your voluntary work. (…) On behalf of the FFDSB**** and in recognition of the services rendered to blood transfusion, I have the great pleasure of welcoming you Nicole as Knight in the Order of Merit of Blood,” declared Danielle solemnly. , very moved, pinning the medal on her friend’s jacket.
Nicole, who was to be absent this evening, confided very touched to Info Chalon: “I was supposed to go away for the weekend this evening but my daughter, who was obviously in the confidence, told me that she would have liked to attend a general meeting, so I postponed my departure until tomorrow morning but I did not expect to be decorated at all this evening! “.
This evening continued around a glass of friendship where the participants were able to share moments rich in conviviality, as is customary within the friendly intervillages.
