AI is hotter than ever, thanks to tools like ChatGPT. But not everyone is equally enthusiastic about the new technology.
According to a survey from the job site Flexjobs 54 percent of men use AI in their work or in their free time. This can be compared with only 35 percent among women.
Fear of new technology
Jodie Cookan expert in AI, believes that it is because there is a greater fear of technology in women than in men.
“Even though many tools don’t require much technical skill, women won’t want to experiment with them if they don’t see themselves as tech-savvy,” she tells BBC.
“AI still feels a bit like science fiction, and in the media and in popular culture, science fiction tends to be marketed towards men,” she adds.
