The gendarmes of Eure-et-Loir met this Thursday, January 12, at Chartres Cathedral, to honor their patron saint, Saint Geneviève.
Colonel Stéphane Tourtin invited personalities, including Richard Lizurey, deputy mayor of Chartres, former director general of the National Gendarmerie (2016-2019).
Other Eurelian figures were present such as the prefect Françoise Souliman, the public prosecutor, Frédéric Chevallier, the senator Daniel Guéret, the mayor of Chartres Jean-Pierre Gorges, or the mayor of Luisant, Bertrand Massot.
They attended the religious office celebrated by Monsignor Philippe Christory, Bishop of Chartres. The saxophone quartet of the Republican Guard sounded its brass during this symbolic one-hour tribute.
The speeches then took place at the international center of stained glass.
