The Geminid meteor shower will peak tonight and can be seen in New York.
This is one of the stellar phenomena with the best visibility of the year due to the large number of meteorites that are observable, NASA assured.
“The Geminid meteor shower, which peaks in mid-December each year, is considered one of the best and most reliable annual meteor showers,” they explained in a statement.
“This rain is considered one of the best opportunities for young viewers, since this rain starts around 9 or 10 pm,” they add.
Although they are visible between November 19 and December 24, the peak is the night of December 14.
Up to 120 meteors can be seen per hour.
Even the following days and the weekend may be observable in the sky, although to a lesser extent.
