From December 18, residents of Thionville will be able to take ownership of the Europe footbridge which, by spanning the Moselle, connects the forecourt of the SNCF station to the city center. For the official inauguration, however, we will have to wait a little longer. “Between July 10 and July 14” of next year, announces Mayor Pierre Cuny, contacted by “La Semaine”. A postponement at the beginning of the summer which is explained by the withdrawal period that the presidential election of 2022 will impose. However, Pierre Cuny considers that the “work of art” which his city has acquired could attract , on the day of the inauguration, one or more high ranking members of the government.
