The Garuda chief opens his voice in response to news that he will be replaced on 15 November

Garuda Indonesia President Director (Dirut) Irfaniaputra opened his voice regarding the news of the change in Garuda’s board of directors through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS). EGMS Garuda is scheduled to be held on 15 November 2024.

Irfan explained that the main agenda at the EGMS was to make changes to the management levels, both at the company director and commissioner level.

“The 15th GMS is fine, in fact there is a GMS on the 15th (November) EGMS that has an agenda of governance changes. The leaders are the directors and the commissioners,” said Irfan, as reported report by Antara, Saturday (9/11/). 2024).

Irfan also responded to news circulating that Lion Air Acting CEO Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan would replace himself as Managing Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA).

Irfan emphasized that all decisions are in the hands of shareholders. For information, the majority of Garuda shares are held by the government through the Minister of BUMN.

“This is absolutely the authority of the shareholders and we respect that,” Irfan said.

Irfan said that he, as a professional, is ready to make the bail if he is still trusted to be a director and sincere when he is replaced, according to the decision of the shareholders.

“We are professionals, so when we are asked (to be president) we thank you, when we are replaced we also thank you, if necessary We will be put in their place,” Irfan said.

He also said that he fully respects the decisions made by shareholders without questioning those considerations.

“Certainly shareholders have many considerations that we do not ask because we are professionals,” he also said.

As previously reported, the Minister of State Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that EGMS Garuda would explain the reasons for the change in management. Then, he asked to wait for the results of the meeting first.

“The GMS doesn’t have it yet, just wait for the GMS,” said Erick in Jakarta, Thursday (7/11).

When asked if there would be a reorganization of the Garuda Board of Directors, Erick said that could not be explained yet and that would be answered at the EGMS later.

“Later, when the GMS is there, we will tell you about it,” said Erick.
