We’re only days away from this year’s broadcast of The Game Awards, so it’s reasonable to expect an influx rousing messages from the moderator and organizer of the whole event, Geoff Keighley. For those who can’t wait any longer, he prepared the traditional “Hype trailer”, a two and a half minute long mix of footage from games, films and series that were released this year. However, it doesn’t reveal anything to look forward to in terms of announcements, but on the other hand, it serves as a nice reminder of how strong 2023 actually was. And naturally, this does not include all important or well-rated titles. At the end of the trailer, of course, there is information about the time of the stream, so once again, as a reminder, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the whole event will start after 1 a.m. on Friday, December 8.
If you’re wondering how long you’ll be sitting in front of the screens, the information was revealed in a recent Q&A hosted by Keighley on Twitch. The footage will be similar to last year, i.e. approximately 2.5-3 hours, which from our point of view means a fairly solid night marathon. In addition to the awarding of individual awards, there will of course be a whole series of announcements, trailers and performances, which Keighley already talked about last week. However, he added that players can look forward to a number of completely new brands, teams and worlds, which the journalist also indirectly talked about Jeff Grubbwhen he lured new brands and third party games in one of his shows.
If we were to be specific and look at the news a few hours, days at the most, Sega, for example, came up with hints. In conjunction with The Game Awards, she began sending out invitations to streamers and YouTubers to stream, citing the “New Era and New Energy” she wants to introduce at the event. What this means is not yet certain, but Geoff Keighley also shared the news from social networks several times and hinted that something like this is just the beginning. In the meantime, developers and publishers are already directly confirming their participation, so you can look forward to news about Baldur’s Gate III, Warframe, Hideo Kojima will most likely show up with the second Death Stranding, Keighley’s favorite Muppets will also be present, and favorite Christopher Judge will hand over one of prices. Previously, the developers from Sharmob studio also confirmed their participation to present their new game, Pedro Eustache aka The Man with the Flute will also arrive and we have no doubt that Sam Lake will also appear, for example in connection with the upcoming New Game Plus mode for Alan Wake II and other celebrities from the gaming industry.
The list of participants will no doubt be added to in the coming hours and days, if any bigger fish gets caught in the net, we will be sure to let you know.
