“The G7 Stands United in Supporting Ukraine Against Russian Aggression, Says Sunak”

It is clear that the G7 countries are united in their support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, Sunak said.

As the prime minister said, his message to Putin is: “It’s simple. We will not leave.”

Great Britain plays a leading role in negotiations with allies on a long-term security agreement to support Ukraine, Sunak said.

“Clearly assuring Russia that support for Ukraine will continue for years to come,” he added, would send a clear message to Moscow that its “wait-and-see strategy will not work.”

“Defence spending is increasing everywhere, including in the United Kingdom,” Sunak said, stressing that “this is good for European security.”

Ukraine has “every chance of success” in the spring offensive with the resources and capabilities provided to it by Britain and allies, the prime minister said.
