Students of state and non-state universities can apply for scholarships.

The Government of the Russian Federation established a scholarship named after G.I. Nevelsky. The best university students in the Far Eastern Federal District will be able to receive it. The scholarship amount will be 30 thousand rubles.

“The G.I. Nevelsky Scholarship is a current initiative for the Far East, which will attract talented applicants to Vitus Bering KamSU. Schoolchildren who received high scores on the Unified State Exam and winners of Olympiads are a source of pride for any university. Already, many talented applicants are entering our university. But for the development of our existing areas, such as biodiversity, energy, volcanology, seismology and, of course, teacher training, students who have high results, including in scientific activities, are important. It is important that in order to receive the G.I. Nevelsky scholarship at the next stages, in addition to grades, you also need to have scientific publications, which in turn will stimulate the development of young scientists,” said the first vice-rector of KamSU named after. Vitus Bering Oleg Sulitsa.

The scholarship will be available to full-time students who entered with maximum Unified State Exam scores in a core subject, as well as those who, before entering the university, became winners and prize-winners of Olympiads for schoolchildren.

When transferring to the second and subsequent years, a student will be able to retain the right to a scholarship if, based on the results of the intermediate certification, he has “excellent” and “good” grades and has published in peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference proceedings.

Grants received by the student to carry out research work, or his victory in the All-Russian or international Olympiad or other competition will also be taken into account.

Admiral Gennady Ivanovich Nevelskoy made a significant contribution to the study of the Far East. He was the first to prove that Sakhalin is an island and not a peninsula, as previously thought, and also founded the city of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur.
