The future Renault Austral, also tested in Romania. Engines up to 200 hp

Renault Austral has entered the final stage of development, that of road tests necessary to verify quality and reliability. These endurance tests also aim to validate the longevity of the various components.

The Renault Austral SUV completes in these severe conditions the latest validations of its new CMF-CD3 platform and the range of fully electrified engines.

A fleet of approximately 100 vehicles will cover two million kilometers, traveling through France, Spain, Germany and Romania to verify the validity of validations made in previous phases. 900 drivers will cover 600,000 km on the open road, while another 1,400,000 kilometers will be covered on the circuit.

These tests will make it possible, for example, to validate the choice of settings for the new CMF-CD3 platform, to check the driving assistance systems, the sound insulation and even the comfort of the suspension to offer the best to our future customers.

Among the validations considered are those of the powertrain. Renault Austral will benefit from a range consisting exclusively of hybrid petrol engines, mostly consisting of completely new engine options: a new generation E-TECH Hybrid engine, a 1.3 TCe mild-hybrid 12V engine and the new 1.2 TCe 48V mild-hybrid.

This range of engines will offer record performance: low emissions, from 105 g CO2 / km (for the E-TECH engine in the WLTP cycle, pending approval), and maximum power of up to 200 hp.
