The future president of the FIF could be ousted the day after his election, the reasons

The Normalization Committee of the Ivorian Football Federation chaired by Mariam Dao Gabala, acting as the Electoral Commission, was facing the press at the end of the afternoon this Friday, April 15, 2022.

It is therefore a sword of Damocles which hovers over the heads of the candidates

It was for them to unveil the candidates selected among the six (6) submitted for the post of president of the Ivorian football federation.

Admissibility

Were declared admissible the candidatures presented by the heads of the following lists:

1. Diallo Yacine Idriss
2. Kouakou konan Laurent
3. Sory Diabate
4. Drogba
   Didier

Candidates selected eligible for the FIF elections of April 23, 2022.

The candidates for the presidency of the FIF retained subject to the integrity investigation are:

1. Diallo Yacine Idriss
2. Sory Diabate
3. Drogba
   Didier

   The elections scheduled for April 23, 2022 in Yamoussoukro are of 2 types. On the one hand, a uninominal ballot for the appointment of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and the 12 members of the Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee.

   On the other hand, a list ballot by the designation of the President of the Ivorian Football Federation and his team, the whole constituting the Executive Committee.

   In this sense, the Standardization Committee, which acts as an Electoral Commission, registered a total of 107 candidate files which are distributed as follows: for the post of President of the Ivorian Football Federation, 6 candidates had been registered.

   The integrity investigation

   The President of the FIF Standardization Committee, informed that an integrity investigation is underway on one of the successful candidates. So if the facts of which he is accused are confirmed, he could be deposed the day after his election so obviously it is he who wins the ballot.

   From then on, the process will resume under way for a new election.

   It is therefore a sword of Damocles which hovers over the heads of the candidates in this election which has not yet revealed all its secrets. The electoral campaign opens this Saturday, April 16.
