RTL program director Peter van der Vorst sees The voice of Holland will not return to television in the short term. The talent show was taken off the air at the beginning of last year after reports of inappropriate behavior.

At the time it was reported that it was not yet clear what would happen to the program. More than a year and a half later, Van der Vorst says he thinks that the talent show can return to television, but not in the short term.
“What happened is separate from the format, which is still very strong. We have always said that. It is not the program, but what happened around it,” says the program director of RTL Nederland.
It was recently announced that The Voicecoach Ali B and band leader Jeroen Rietbergen are being prosecuted for sexual misconduct surrounding the recording of the talent show.
Coach Marco Borsato has also been sued by a candidate from The Voice, but due to lack of evidence, the singer will not be prosecuted in this case. On Wednesday it was announced that the artist will be prosecuted for indecency with a minor. But this case is separate from the program.
