Sunreef 80 Eco: The future of the luxury catamaran currently in production

The Sunreef shipyard has just announced the start of production of the future Sunreef 80 Eco, the most advanced sustainable luxury catamaran in the world.

A clever mix between the Sunreef 80 Normad and the Sunreef 60 Power Eco, the new ship from the Sunreef shipyard in Gdansk stops shaking up the luxury yacht and catamaran market. Already a leader in this segment, the shipyard created and managed by the Frenchman Francis Lapp wants to be a pioneer in terms of eco-responsibility and respect for the environment.

the Sunreef 80 Eco fits perfectly in this perspective. Entirely electric, the ship aims to be the perfect alliance between ultramodern green technology and comfort, for the passengers but also for the captain. Sailing quietly, the ship will generate renewable energy above but also below the waterline.

For this, the shipyard has developed, internally, extremely light solar cells (advertised as the lightest in the world) which will be integrated into the sides of the hull, the superstructure, the bimini and the carbon mast. Thus, the system will cover 150 m2 of surface for a delivered power of 34 kWp. As for the engine, the Sunreef 80 Eco will have two 180 kW electric motors, coupled with an energy recovery system integrated into the rotation of the propeller.

Surreef is expected to see it by next summer. In the meantime, check out the first images of this eco-friendly luxury catamaran through the photo gallery below.
