The future of the Facade Bonus is more uncertain every day, they say. It is better to hurry so as not to lose it

The facades bonus has refurbished many Italian buildings and gave a breath of fresh air to a sector in distress. But it expires at the end of the year. And then? It would not be good news the end of the face bonus. Yet if things follow their physiological evolution this is what will happen. In fact, its end is set for December 31st.

Let’s face it: the facades bonus has an enemy politically and this is the famous 110% superbonus. The superbonus is a bit of a media star. It was a boon for the sector. Government and Europe strongly want it because it has proved to be an authentic energy requalification engine for a large part of the old Italian real estate assets.

In the PNRR it says in black and white that Italy will have to improve 50% of its properties from an energy point of view by the very close date of 2025. And the 110% super bonus in this is strategic.

Too bad to let it expire

So if the political scene is dominated by the superbonus that seems to please and serve all the parties involved, interest and above all roofing (the real knot) for the facades bonus is at risk.

There are not a few parliamentarians who are raising the alarm on this question why the facade bonus actually had a significant and positive impact on the construction industry and failure to renew it would force the estimates for this sector to be revised downwards.

Construction has been in a precarious situation well before the covid, and letting the facades bonus die at the end of the current year would be bad news. Italia Viva has strongly requested the renewal.

But not only that: various parliamentarians have supported the extension of the bonus. The secret hope of many (especially in the construction sector) is that the facades bonus can be extended with the budget law. The games are open.
