The new Manta is expected to arrive in 2025. So what will it be? Forget a single pair of doors, the upcoming Manta will most likely feature a five-door crossover.
In addition, electric, at Opel, similar to many other major car companies, combustion engines have no future – at least in Europe. The German manufacturer wants to electrify all its models by 2024, and from 2028 plans to sell only electric cars on European markets. So one of them should be the new Manta.
The original Manta, i.e. the first generation coupé produced between 1970 and 1975, currently has a great influence on Opel. Its appearance was inspired by today’s design language of the brand. The so-called Opel Vizor, a characteristic solution to the front of current models, refers precisely to the first Manta.
It can be assumed that the original coupe will have a similar influence on its spiritual successor in the form of an electric crossover. And it was from this premise that the well-known designer and virtual artist Lars Sältzer, appearing on Instagram under the name LARSONdesign, created his own vision of how the new electric Manta could look.
His idea takes the form of a five-door crossover with relatively sharp edges. The front clearly follows the current design language of Opel, the mask is completed by a light bar connecting angular and narrow headlights. The sloping roof catches the eye in the rear, and the minimalist lamps also look interesting.

We have no idea if the new Manta will resemble this study, there is not much information available about the electric crossover with the famous name. Not about design, not about technology.
Finally, let us remind you that Opel showed the electric Manta already in 2021. The Opel Manta GSe Elektromod, as the car is called, does look good, but it is more of a conceptual restomod of the original coupe and was never intended for serial production.
