The Future of Green Energy: Advantages, Predictions, and Investment Opportunities

Green energy represents the future towards which humanity is rapidly approaching, thanks to the more favorable context than ever for the transition from fossil energy. Countries all over the world have set energy security as their goal, after the war in Ukraine caused a global crisis in this field. Another argument is of an economic nature: the cost of energy produced by means of solar panels and wind turbines has become lower than that of energy generated by fossil fuels. And global warming is becoming an increasingly pressing problem, so meeting climate targets, such as reaching the threshold of zero carbon dioxide emissions, is a priority.

Wins on the line for green energy

The International Energy Agency estimates that green energy sources will grow between 2022-2027, that is, in five years, more than they have grown in the last 20 years. Another prediction made by the IEA: by 2025, coal will no longer represent the most important source for electricity production. Another historical moment is even closer: in 2023, investments in solar energy will exceed those in oil production for the first time. “For every dollar invested in fossil fuels, about $1.7 goes to green energy. 5 years ago, this ratio was 1 to 1“, explained the executive director of the International Energy Agency”, Fatih Birol.

Romania’s advantages regarding renewable energy

Romania is privileged in terms of the conditions for the production of green energy: it has 210 sunny days per year, and Dobrogea in particular is an ideal area to transform wind gusts into energy. Including during this year, Romania was in first place in Europe regarding the use of wind energy (37% of the total) and was also in the top of the wind energy production, according to windeurope.org data.

Romania’s energy strategy stipulates that energy production from renewable sources will reach 34% in 2030.

Choose the ideal partner to invest in green energy

Libra Internet Bank offers a quick response to companies interested in investing in green energy. Financing discussions can begin before the project is in the ready to build stage, to establish the financing structure and the next steps of the lending process. Also, the financed company can be newly established – SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle), and the feasibility of the project is analyzed by Libra Internet Bank’s team of specialists.

Libra Internet Bank offers credit including for investment projects in renewable energy financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) or other programs supported by the state

The latest financing granted by Libra Internet Bank in the field of green energy is worth 8 million euros and is for the development of a photovoltaic park in Mehedinţi county. The project includes 27,000 panels, installed on an area of almost 200,000 square meters. The photovoltaic park will have an electrical power of nearly 15 MW and an average annual energy of approximately 19,000 MWh, i.e. enough to cover the consumption required for approximately 10,000 homes (with an average consumption of 150 KWh/month).

More details about credits for green energy are available on the Libra Internet Bank website, where you can also apply for such a loan, and will then be contacted by the bank’s specialists.
