The Future of Airbus Brasserie: Colomiers Town Hall Takes Ownership

It is a well-known address among Columérins. For a coffee, a drink or a menu, in all circumstances, the Airbus brasserie does the trick. It has even become an essential place in the Val d’Aran district. “We feel good there, it’s plentiful and it’s not expensive,” admits Frédérique, who comes to eat there several times a month. But in recent days, a rumor has been spreading among regulars. The Airbus would therefore change ownership. Loyal customers of this brewery are wondering: but who will take over the business?

The city interested in the case

To everyone’s great surprise, it was the Colomiers town hall which took position. “The location of the Brasserie L’Airbus offers an entry point to the Plein-Centre district particularly identified by users,” admits the mayor of Colomiers, Karine Traval-Michelet. “This decision seemed essential to us in view of the project to revitalize the Plein-Centre and this opening to the Grand Val d’Aran,” continues the elected official. The purchase of the Airbus brewery is part of a broader plan, which consists of protecting businesses in the city center and neighborhoods like the Val d’Aran. “The urban project for the city center of tomorrow will be deployed mainly in the medium and long term,” adds Karine Traval-Michelet. “While waiting for urban interventions in the Plein-Centre, which are more complex and involve many stakeholders, maintaining local commerce in the city center constitutes a major challenge,” explains the mayor of Colomiers.

An opening planned before 2024

The acquisition of the business will be carried out for an amount of 150,000 euros net seller, as part of an amicable acquisition. The Airbus brasserie, which should be managed by the town hall, could therefore reopen before the start of 2024. It remains to be seen what transformations will be made to this popular address.
