That’s it, the announcement is official. After months of reflection, the town hall d’Amfreville-Saint-Amand, in the Eure, supported by the community of communes Roumois Seine, formalizes its desire to open a health center in the old building of the community of communes of Amfreville-la-Campagne, located in Fouqueville.
The building, built in the 2000s, housed the offices of the community of municipalities of Amfreville-la-Campagne before several communities of municipalities came together and became Roumois Seine. In 2018, the building, about 700 square meters, was left empty.
700 square meters and many offices
It is made up of three wings, connected by the reception. A large room, a former meeting room and two wings in long corridors, where dozens of offices “where practitioners could set up their practice” follow one another.
Two weeks ago the heating was turned on, a major cleaning was done and the gardens were refreshed.
“It’s a building in excellent condition,” says Jérôme Débus, mayor of Amfreville-Saint-Amand, on the initiative of this health center. My idea was to build a health center in the municipality but seeing this free building and completely compatible with the project, I expressed my desire to the Roumois Seine community of municipalities, also not to spoil the public money. “
Its president, Vincent Martin, immediately adheres to it. “We have to revive this building. It has plenty of room to accommodate many practitioners and is very well located. “
Attract healthcare professionals
In lack of health professionals, the town hall of Amfreville-Saint-Amand has been trying to attract them for many years, and sees in this project the means to get there.
The health center will be located at the Fouqueville roundabout on the D840, “a very busy axis, with around 4,000 vehicles per day”, underlines the mayor. “Today, we are not proposing a project that will see the light of day in months or even years, but premises, turnkey. Practitioners will only have to settle in, paint over if they wish! “
Regarding the health professionals already installed in Amfreville-Saint-Amand, less than a kilometer from the future health center, nurses, general practitioner, physiotherapist, chiropodist, speech therapist or psychomotor therapist, the mayor presented them with the project in October. “They are all interested in the health center. Being in common premises is positive. The world attracts the world. “
“The world attracts the world”
And for new health professionals interested, just go to the town hall for more information, visits to the health center will also be organized on request.
As the building belongs to the Roumois Seine community of municipalities, it is up to them to define the terms: the rent and the charges for the commercial lease. “It’s almost done,” says Vincent Martin.
You are a health professional and interested in the project, more information on 02 32 35 72 52 or at the town hall of Amfreville-Saint-Amand.
Then, the installation of the first health professionals can go very quickly. “As soon as we have two or three requests, we can launch the health center. “
In total, around thirty practitioners will be able to set up their practice in the health center.
The future health center proposed as a vaccination center
The president of the Roumois Seine community of municipalities does not hide it. Since the start of the vaccination campaign, he has offered to host a vaccination center in the area, and more precisely in the old building of the community of municipalities of Amfreville-la-Campagne. “In the old meeting room, a large space, one can totally imagine a vaccination center. There are also many small separate rooms where to vaccinate, ”explains Vincent Martin.
If the discussions are, at the present time, turned towards the lack of vaccine doses, Vincent Martin does not forget the difficulties that the inhabitants of Roumois Seine can encounter in getting vaccinated, even when it is possible to take Appointment.
“The closest vaccination centers are in Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf or Pont-Audemer, it is not practical for our elders. ”In the area, 3,000 people are over 75 years old, and not all of them have the means to travel.
“We should set up vaccination centers open half a week, in different places, to allow everyone to have easy access to the vaccine,” argues the president of Roumois Seine.
The vaccination center at the future health center of Amfreville-Saint-Amand has already been proposed to the prefecture of Evreux. “We haven’t had an answer yet. “
