After completion of the section between Montluçon and the limits of the Creuse, the work had to be interrupted on March 23 at a place called “Bobignat”, in the town of Teillet-Argenty, to respect the bird nesting period.
During the same period, with the support of the Plan Particular pour la Creuse (PPC) and the European Leader program, a design office was commissioned to work on the feasibility of the project.

The mission is broken down into two phases. The first includes several components, including the analysis of environmental constraints, inspection of structures, reflection on the type of coating to use (tread), securing of crossings (old level crossings), creation of different areas (rest, services, etc.).
The study will also include a large tourism component. To date, tourist and heritage points of interest, as well as natural sites have been identified. The inventory and classification of accommodation was also carried out.
After this extensive diagnostic and inventory work, the design office will begin the second phase of the work devoted to costing the project and its phasing.
A steering committee co-chaired by Frédéric Laporte, president of Montluçon Community and mayor of Montluçon, and Nicolas Simonet, president of Creuse Confluence, is also actively involved in advancing the file.
While waiting for the greenway of this section, many walkers are already enjoying the walk to the Tardes viaduct. The finalization of this project will strongly contribute to the tourist development of the territory.
And with the soft mobility routes created by Montluçon Community, hiking or cycling enthusiasts can reach the Berry Canal. Enough to make very beautiful outings.
Since the beginning of November the line closing order has been signed by SNCF. The right-of-way of the line will remain the property of SNCF Réseau. A management transfer agreement will soon be established.
