For the sake of reading, at the Sharjah International Book Fair people from different cultural and social backgrounds and age groups meet, wander in search of the books they love, their favorite writers, the intellectual and cultural activities and seminars that nourish theirs. minds and bring them closer to the world of authors, writers and poets and in the different cognitive and scientific disciplines.Since knowledge is a broad and profound concept, among the guests of the festival there were stars other than writers, rather creators of other worlds such as cinema , creators of content, song and music, and in this matter a clear philosophy, when such stars come to book fairs with their overwhelming popularity, this is a promotion for reading and books; Where the exhibition accepts, even those who have nothing to do with reading, to establish and make a rapprochement with the book.
Many intellectuals, writers and creators have started their relationships with reading and writers through exhibitions, which they go to for leisure and time and entertainment, in order to change and kill the routine, but some of them refer to the book through the title or cover, to begin the story of a relationship that ends with their writers and authors, and to strengthen those bonds between the ordinary audience and the show, the management has worked to host many stars and celebrities in various disciplines.
Despite the presence of writing, art and other acquaintances, the exhibition management was not satisfied with this, but was able to create enchanting worlds in the place, so much so that they wandered around the exhibition as if it were “Alice in the Land of Wonders ”, because he meets many of the characters he was reading about. As if she had jumped from the pages of books to share the reader’s joy at the great cultural event, and the love for books, she finds a girl who embodies the character of Farida Kahlo, the famous painter of all ages, old and young , whose character in the exhibition was embodied by the famous Italian actress Elena Javouri, where the actress wanders through the halls and exhibition halls, in a costume inspired by the features of the wooden doll, designed by the Italian writer and journalist Carlo Collodi , at the end of the nineteenth century, with his characteristic nose, which More a long time tells lies, and there is also the character of Geronimo Stiloton, “the fox”, the hero of the most famous Italian comic, which he meets inside of the exhibition for adults and children, giving them wisdom in a world that needs it most. The exhibition offers us the future through a look in a book.
In addition to these characters from the pages of the greatest novels and short stories, the wanderer will also meet imaginary and strange characters in strange costumes and very bright colors in the exhibition rooms, who distribute their smiles to the visitors of the exhibition and convey to them the message of the importance of reading that aligns and is consistent with the slogan of this year’s exhibition “A word for the world”, those characters who seemed to come from a magical world, to create an atmosphere of fun and joy, and in addition to bright and colorful lights, the nights of the exhibition are more like a tale or a novel by Miguel de Cervantes, with his ability to amaze, or Garcia Marquez with that magical exoticism that encompasses Indeed.
