Romelu Lukaku is still waiting to settle down in Naples. In Italy, his legacy is still alive at Inter Milan despite the tensions of last summer.
After Inter and AS Roma, Romelu Lukaku could well have a third Italian club in Naples. He remains to this day the most expensive outgoing transfer in the history of Serie A behind Cristiano Ronaldo. His departure to Chelsea brought in 113 million to Inter.
An amount that will always make him find favor in the hearts of Joseph Marottathe Inter president, despite the still tenacious resentment from last summer: “The episode represented little respect for all the positive emotions and adrenaline provided during these years. We all owe Lukaku a thank you for what he did, he was always involved and he always did a good job” he explains to the media Sette.
Marotta disappointed but good sport
“Let’s remember it for that: for the good things, not for the bad things, and then let’s remember that it represented the strangest operation for Inter in its history, but also the most positive,” explains Marotta.
The president does not have a short memory: “We have valued him in an incredible way and this has given us an important return from an economic point of view to build the conquest of the second star. With him we won the scudetto and he remains in the history of theInter“.
Not sure the Nerazzurri fans would agree. But a reminder is sometimes good to remember the place taken by Big Rom in a club of the stature of Inter.
