Elżbieta Zającówna passed away on October 28, 2024. The actress known from films such as “Vabank”, “Mothers, Wives and Lovers” was only 66 years old. The Association of Polish Stage Artists announced her death online.
“It is with great sadness and disbelief that we say goodbye to our friend Elżbieta Zającówna, a member of ZASP, a graduate of the Krakow State Theater School. In one of the interviews she said: ‘I love laughing, I love cheerful people. That’s how I want to live…’. And that’s how we will remember you. Goodbye, Elu!” – ZASP said on social media.

November 6 at At 12.00, the funeral ceremony of Elżbieta Zającówna began in the Church of Creative Communities at Teatralny Square in Warsaw.
However, the actress will be buried in her hometown of Krakow. On Thursday, November 7, at the Grębałów cemetery, relatives will say goodbye to Zającówna.
Elżbieta Zającówna was well known and liked in the acting community. In recent years, she has been fulfilling herself as a producer. On Wednesday, many stars appeared at the ceremony in Warsaw who wanted to say goodbye to the actress and friend. Among them, you could see Małgorzata Lewińska, Małgorzata Potocka, Janusz Józefowicz, Paweł Wawrzecki, Jerzy Kryszak, Grażyna Strachota, Anna Jurksztowicz, Stefan Friedmann, Jerzy Bończak and Katarzyna Butowtt.
There was, of course, also Krzysztof Jaroszyński, screenwriter and satirist, and privately Zającówna’s husband.
