the full draw

France inherited a rather affordable group on paper this Friday during the draw for the group stage of the 2022 World Cup. Placed in group D, the Blues will face Denmark, as in 2018 , but also Tunisia. Finally, Kylian Mbappé’s partners do not yet know exactly the identity of their last opponent: it will be Peru, the United Arab Emirates or Australia. These three nations will compete for the last ticket to the World Cup next June.

Organizing country, Qatar will have the right to a raised group A with Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands. Group B will consist of England, Iran, USA and Wales, Ukraine or Scotland (yet to be determined). Lionel Messi’s Argentina will challenge Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Robert Lewandowski’s Poland in Group C. Group E will offer a nice display between Spain and Germany, while Japan and Costa Rica or New Zealand (still to be determined) will try to do well in this same pool.

Semi-finalists in 2018, Belgium will find Canada, Morocco and Croatia in group F. Leader of the FIFA rankings, Neymar’s Brazil will challenge Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon, winner of Algeria in the play-offs of qualification, in group G. Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will try to shine against Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea in group H.
