The interim government is planning serious discounts for BDZ cards and public transport. This was announced in the study of “Wake up” in NOVA by the interim Minister of Economy, Nikola Stoyanov.
According to him, the 25-cent fuel discount was poorly planned. He is considering whether to continue to act, but if he does, “it will not remain on the back burner”. Later this year the government will announce the measures, which are likely to affect people with incomes up to BGN 1,000.
“The money ran out already in the second half of November. The first problem is poor planning, the financial resource that has been allocated. Moreover, in this way Lukoil finances itself with money from the state budget,” he explained.
According to him, Bulgaria has a threat from the European Commission for a punitive measure, since the discount is used only by Bulgarian citizens. “There are complaints from Romanian citizens in our country that the measure is discriminatory,” he added
According to him, the Cabinet has done a lot to reduce the price of gas.
“Two and a half months ago, when we started meeting with the Energy Headquarters, there were a lot of comments about gas prices. The company was talking about the need for the price to be less than BGN 250 per megawatt hour. A higher price than that it would not be convenient for them. In just two and a half months, the Provisional Government in the person of colleague Rosen Hristov managed to change the situation in Bulgaria a lot. In October, the price fell by 30%, in November by 47%. Now it is normal for prices to rise during the winter season. Also, “Chiren” was full of very expensive gas during the previous government,” commented Nikola Stoyanov.
