Kozhikode: A youth’s message reached the Nadakav police station in Kozhikode around midnight last night. The man who sought help was concerned that his friend, a 33-year-old man from Kodungallur, Thrissur, was missing. In addition, the friend had also sent a message stating that he was going to kill himself. This was also reported to the police. The young man’s request was somehow to save his life.

SI Leela Velayudhan and his team, who were on duty at Nadakav station, then made rapid movements. The location of the missing youth’s mobile phone was traced with the help of a cyber cell. The police soon found out that the young man had reached the Kothiravattam area during the investigation. But the lodges here were searched but not found.

Later, the police team went to the ceremony of Mylampadi Atmos Lodge in Kothivatta. When he saw the picture of the young man, he realized that he had taken a room there. When the door was not opened despite having a call outside the room, the police team kicked the door open and entered. The police team found the young man tied with a rope to commit suicide.

The police team comforted the young man by talking to him and they called his relatives and let him out with them. Police said the youth, who worked at Emerald Mall in Kozhikode, had family problems. Senior civil police officers Anish Babu, Abdul Samad and Shajal Ignatius also took part in the investigation of the youth.
